ATB Helical Gear LSD

All Terrain Warriors is proud to announce the newly developed

AutoTorque Biasing (ATB) Helical Gear Limited Slip Differential (LSD) as a direct
replacement for OEM factory 'open' differential units on all Fuso FG and Isuzu
NPS ('08 onwards). Backed with a lifetime warranty, the new ATB helical gear
LSD is fully automatic and progressive in operation. Unlike conventional plate or
clutch style LSD units, the new ATB never locks but seamlessly and smoothly
transfers power and torque away from a spinning wheel to the one with the most
traction........exactly the opposite action of a typical 'open' diff.
In practice, this significantly reduces torque steer, understeer and
steering 'snatch' in 4 wheel drive applications compared to common clutched
type limited slip differentials and other diff locks. Off-road, this translates
into reduced wheelspin (improved tyre life and reduced driveline stress),
virtually no torque steer and less understeer during cornering (improved safety
and control), and greatly enhanced performance in soft mud and sand (reduced
need for recovery and getting bogged).

If one wheel is lifted from the ground so that there is no torque bias,
the diff will revert to the same operation as an open diff but simply tapping
the brakes will be enough to regain full torque to the opposite wheel still in
contact with the ground.

This unit is a direct replacement for OEM factory differentials and can
be installed at any suitably authorized truck workshop. Normally this is a 7 or
8 hour operation. The installation requires no fabrication or modification and in
the long term will require no special oils or servicing. The new ATB Helical
Gear LSD also comes with a lifetime warranty.

This type of ATB Helical Gear LSD has been successfully used in all
forms of motorsport including F1, rallying, circuit racing, truck racing and is
also commonly used in military applications where heavy offroad trucks are
required to perform in soft terrain.
They have been developed in partnership with a leading engineering firm
and CNC machined in the UK to ISO9001 standards using Corus steel billets. Over
100,000 ATB units made for similar applications have been sold since the mid
1980's and are still in circulation globally.
