The 3 most important features of Parabolic Springs

    characteristics and lack of inter leaf friction resistance.

ATW Parabolic Springs have a slightly higher spring rate and in combination with special shock absorbers it will give more stability to the vehicle at all speeds, on and off-road.

What is a parabolic spring?
Basically a ATW Parabolic Spring is a spring that consists of two or more leaves. The leaves touch only in the centre, where they are fixed to the axle and at the outer ends, where they are fixed to the vehicle. In between those two points the leaves do not touch each other as they do with conventional springs.

Each leaf represents a complete spring in itself and will act as such. To enable this the leaf is tapered, from the centre (thick) to the outer ends (thin). This tapering is parabolic, which means that every centimetre (or inch) the thickness of the leaf decreases in amount that relates to the square function of it's length.

Our parabolic springs are produced according to strict quality controls from detailed engineering drawings. Every individual leaf, is made from Chrome Vanadium steel, tapered, punched, rolled, heat treated and finally dip painted in special anticorrosive paint. Accessories are galvanised to ensure a durable protection against the elements.  

Can I fit the parabolic springs to the front or rear only?
By having a different type of rear spring (multi-leaf) with a way different spring rate to Parabolics you will find that the harsher riding rear spring packs will, on broken road surfaces force the easier moving front parabolic springs down, causing a rocking from front to rear that could cause erratic steering of vehicle & be a potential safety issue. 

Shock absorbers
With Parabolics you have more, articulation, more stability and better load carrying, however you still also need to control the increased movement, good quality shock absorbers are a must as they are with any suspension. ATW has worked closely with Manufactures to produce a Shock Absorber to work correctly with our springs.

ATW works through a dealer network Australia wide or directly with SE Queensland based customers. Please ask us for a referral to a dealer in your area. Most Isuzu Dealers, FUSO Dealers and some independents have been inducted and are approved by ATW to fit Parabolic Springs for you.
